A young Swiss man single-handedly developed a social media platform. The app is similar to Jodel, but also offers a private chat function.
Nicolas Schotten from Basel can be described as extremely productive without a guilty conscience. The 22-year-old started developing apps around four years ago. He has already published 40 in the Apple App Store.
Stizzle app to chat completely anonymously
One of them is Stizzle, a local social network. As with Jodel, a social platform for anonymized posting and rating of contributions, you can use the app to text with people from the area. In addition, users at Stizzle can choose whether they want to publish entries publicly or exchange private messages directly with other users.
No indication of personal data
A list shows the age, gender, and the distance of people in the area to whom one can write. Your own location is recognized by the GPS module in the mobile phone. Otherwise, you will not reveal your identity when using it.
“Facebook, for example, is not anonymous at all. If you write something there, everyone can see it, ”explains Schotten. In his opinion, however, the need to post something publicly is decreasing more and more. That’s why he tried to guarantee certain anonymity.
Few rules
That one can therefore just write anything is not the case. “Certain swear words are forbidden, for example,” said Schotten. He doesn’t want to insult someone, but he doesn’t want to forbid too much either: “What you would say in a personal conversation, you should be able to write on Stizzle.”

A lot of work
Developing the Stizzle app took a lot of effort, says Schotten. It is true that he quickly created the first version. It took time until all errors were eliminated and the app ran stably. In contrast to other social networks, where hundreds of developers work, he built such a platform on his own.
Stizzle is currently only available for iOS devices. “It would be nice if the app were also available for Android.” However, since he is currently still studying at the University of Basel, he has not had the time to do so. Stizzle can with this link be downloaded for free.
